Austin Rails group forms

Looks like Austin will have another Ruby related group. We already have Arctan, a general Ruby group that mostly meets at lunchtime these days. Today Robert Rasmussen announced the formation of a Rails specific group:
I’m happy to announce that a Ruby On Rails user group is starting here in Austin. The first meeting will be next Tuesday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. and will be hosted downtown at frog design (we plan to have monthly meetings). The details are at Austin Rails.
Hope to see you there!
Robert
Awesome! Developers like myself have had Austin on Rails for a while now, but now we can get together and talk about it.

Thanks for the headsup, Eric.
And why didn’t they just make it austinonrails.org, instead of austinrails.org? shakes head
Not sure. That’ll be a question for the first meeting.
Also, the general Ruby group in town is called Arctan. Other cities have been startin up groups like Seattle.rb and NYC.rb. I kind of like the sound of Austin.rb.
I need to finally meet up with the Arctan group and see what’s going.
The austinonrails.org idea is a good one, I’ve registered it.
Thanks for coming to the meeting, Eric.
Thanks for coming to the meeting Eric! I’ve actually got the austinrb.org domain, btw.
Hi Robert (and others),
I’m a former developer and recovering project manager (my moniker since converting to agile project “management” 2 years ago). I’m polling folks who might be interested in starting and/or supporting an agile development users group here in Austin. Are you interested? Know anyone else that might be?
